Dog Park & Off-Leash Dog Areas
Ritter Farm Dog Park | 19440 Ritter Trail
Located adjacent to Ritter Farm Park, this 4-acre fenced park property includes separate areas for large and small dog breeds. There is water access and dog waste receptacles located on site. The park is free to use and open year-round to visitors.
Dog Park Rules
- Dogs must me under handler's control
- Proof of current rabies vaccination must be in possession
- Maximum 2 dogs per handler
- Clean-up after your dog(s)
- Aggressive behavior is not allowed
- Female dogs in heat or puppies under the age of 4 months are NOT allowed
- Dogs outside of off-leash areas must be leashed, this includes the entirety of Ritter Farm Park
- Children must be supervised
Off-Leash Dog Areas | Locations Vary
Following changes to the City's ordinance pertaining to the control of dogs, additional off-leash dog areas have been designated at various park locations. Informational signage located at each park clearly depicts the areas where dogs are allowed to be off-leash. Please adhere to the above dog park rules in addition to those listed below.
Designated Off-Leash Park Locations
- Cherryview Park | 7952 - 175th St. W.: Seasonally within the skating rink
- Greenridge Park | 17685 Flagstaff Avenue: Seasonally, within the skating rink
- Highview Heights Park | 16314 Havelock Way: Seasonally, within the skating rink
- McGuire Middle School (ice rinks) | 8700 10th St.: Seasonally, within the skating rinks
- Rolling Oaks Park | 10595 - 167th St. W.: Seasonally, within the skating rink & year-round within, designated green space
- Valley Lake Park | 16050 Garrett Path: Year-round, in designated green space
Designated Off-Leash Park Area Rules
- Dogs are permitted in the designated areas of the park only
- Dogs are not allowed on the play equipment or other park amenities
- Per City Ordinance, dogs must be on a leash not to exceed 25' in all other areas
- Must be respectful of other parks users and pedestrians
- Dog waste must be disposed of in the designated receptacle
Control of Dogs (Leash Law)
In addition to the rules and regulations of the Ritter Farm Dog Park and Designated Off-Leash Dog Areas, the following CIty ordinance must be followed:
- No person shall permit their dog, or a dog under their care, to be at large within the City.
- No person shall permit their dog, or a dog under their care, to be in a City park or on a City street, trail, or sidewalk unless controlled by a leash not exceeding twenty-five feet (25') in length.
- The City may designate off-leash dog exercise and training areas in certain City parks. In dog exercise and training areas designated by the City, dogs must be under voice control when not leashed and must comply with the rules for use of the area. When a pedestrian approaches within one hundred feet (100'), the dog must be immediately recalled and brought under close control until the pedestrian retreats by one hundred feet (100').
