2025 Roadway Improvements
The City of Lakeville completes annual road improvement projects to maintain safe, accessible and reliable streets across the community. The 2025 projects include road repairs, rehabilitation and reconstruction on local and collector streets, trails and parking areas, along with curb, sidewalk, ADA ramp, water system and stormwater improvements. Use the tabs below to learn more about each project planned for the year.
The 2025 Miscellaneous Roadway Improvements Project is comprised of approximately 3.2 miles of local and collector streets, 2.5 miles of local trails and rehabilitation of the Dakota Heights Park parking lot within the City of Lakeville. This project generally includes pavement milling and overlay, partial curb replacement, spot sidewalk replacement, ADA pedestrian ramp updates, watermain corrosion protection and minor storm sewer repairs.

Project Timeline
- Fall 2024: Preliminary engineering
- Winter 2024/2025: Final design
- February 2025: Receive and publicly open bids
- March 2025: City Council to review bids and consider award of contract
- Spring 2025: Neighborhood meeting
- April-June 2026:Construction
- Note: Schedule subject to change, more details will be posted on this webpage when available
- Note: Due to the wet Summer we had in 2025, some areas of the project could not be completed and will be completed in 2026. See the map below for an update on where each area of the project is at. Updated Phasing Map
Private Features Within City Right-of-Way
- Lawn irrigation or sprinkler systems
- Pet containment systems
- Landscaping and plantings
If you wish to protect private features from damage during construction, please temporarily remove them from the City right-of-way. City staff will mark areas of anticipated excavation with white paint and flagging. See the video below for more details.

The 2025 Street Reconstruction Project is comprised of approximately 1.2 miles of local and collector streets within the City. The project scope includes reclamation of existing pavement, installation of new pavement, spot/gutter replacement, spot sidewalk replacement, water system replacement, trail rehabilitation, pedestrian curb ramp reconstruction to meet current ADA guidelines and storm water management best practices requirements.

- October 2024: Finalize feasibility report
- October 21, 2024: Present feasibility report
- November 14, 2024: Neighborhood meeting from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Water Treatment Facility
- November 18, 2024: Public hearing
- November 2024 – January 2025: Prepare plans and specifications
- Early February 2025: Tree maintenance and removal begins on City-owned parcels and in City right-of-way
- March 4, 2025: Open bids
- March 27, 2025: Neighborhood meeting
- April 7, 2025: Assessment hearing/award construction contract
- April – November 2025: Construction
